Mozambique: Vale Provides Humanitarian Aid to Tete

As part of the efforts to tackle the pandemic of the new coronavirus in Mozambique, Vale will proceed with the humanitarian aid to support the Provincial Health Authority in Tete. The action was taken on May 5, at the National Institute for Disaster Management (NIDM), in the city of Tete. Thus, Vale reinforces its commitment to the health and safety of communities surrounding its operations.

At the ceremony, hospital equipment, individual protection items for health care professionals, and public hygiene material were delivered. This action is according to the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Vale with the Mozambican health authorities, amounting to USD 2,000,000.00 (two million US dollars).

Vale reaffirms its commitment to spare no effort to guarantee the health and safety of its employees and the communities surrounding its operations, asking everyone to follow the preventive measures announced by the Mozambican health authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO).
