Registration for donation to those affected in the Self-Rescue Zone begin next Monday (11/2/2019)

The R$50,000.00 donation is destined to those who lived in the area, and that of R$15,000.00 is for those who carried out rural or commercial activities in the Self-Rescue Zone (ZAS)

Next Monday, 11/2/2019, begins the registration period for the donation - humanitarian financial aid - to those affected by the breach of Dam 1, in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Vale is donating R$50,000.00 to those who lived in the area, and R$15,000.00 to those who carried out rural or commercial activities in the Self-Rescue Zone (ZAS) of the Emergency Action Plan for Mining Dams (PAEBM).

The registration will be held at the Knowledge Center, on weekdays, from 9:00 to 18:00. Mini-vans will be available to take the applicants to the Knowledge Center.

It is important to highlight that this financial support is a donation. It is not compensation, which will be agreed between parties together with the authorities. The donation is cumulative if the person fits more than one defined category: residence, productive rural activity or commercial establishment.

What is the Self-Rescue Zone?

The Self-Rescue Zone (ZAS) is the region located downstream from the dam, extending up to 10 km, as defined by the Emergency Action Plan for Mining Dam (PAEBM). To check Brumadinho's ZAS, please see the map below.
