Distribution of Kuntum Magazines to benefit 5,150 children in
Manjung
MANJUNG, August 20 – Vale in Malaysia extends its
support for the communities of Manjung by donating copies of the
‘Kuntum’ educational magazine to 5,150 children. The distribution is a
continuation of Vale’s ‘Kome Hero Kami’ frontliners appreciation
initiative, which was launched in May this year. 5,000 of the magazines
will be distributed to the children of frontliners in Manjung, while the
remaining 150 will be sent out to various orphanages in the district.
Rodrigo Ribeiro de Araújo, CEO of Vale in Malaysia
said: “The pandemic has affected the learning journey of many children
in Manjung, with schools having to be conducted on virtual platforms.
With these magazines, filled with fun and interactive content, we hope
Manjung’s children can continue to learn and expand their knowledge at
home”.
‘Kuntum’ is one of Malaysia’s most established education magazine. The
dual-language (Malay-English) magazine has been recognized by the
Ministry of Education for its educational content, which spans topics
such as STEM, Mathematics, and linguistics.
“The distribution of ‘Kuntum’ magazines will keep these children
occupied and entertained at home, which is important during the
pandemic, as most of their parents spend long hours working on the
frontline every day.”
“Vale recognizes the important role that frontliners are playing in
Malaysia’s pandemic recovery journey. Together, we will rise from the
pandemic ber and more resilient,” Rodrigo concluded.
