Bird-watching
program

Vale Natural Reserve is home to approximately 391 bird species, which corresponds to about 20% of the species recorded in the whole country. Among them, there are some endangered species such as the red-billed curassow, solitary tinamou and harpy eagle, the largest bird of prey in Brazil.

Together with Sooretama Biological Reserve, Vale Natural Reserve is classified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area, due to the significant number of endemic and endangered species found in this single block of Atlantic Forest.

  • Tree nursery

The reserve is home to one of the largest native tree nurseries in Latin America, able to produce up to 3 million saplings per year. Although it focuses on the Atlantic Forest biome, the space has more than 800 species found in different tropical ecosystems.

  • Visitor centre

Vale Natural Reserve has a visitor centre with a permanent exhibition on the Atlantic Forest. Visitors can check out biodiversity samples.

Scheduling: For groups the advance booking by phone is required.

  • Events

Located in an easy-to-reach and scenic beauty area, Vale Natural Reserve offers complete infrastructure to hold corporate and thematic events, weddings, birthdays and parties in general. The space includes auditoriums, training rooms, halls and a large outdoor area. The hotel has its own restaurant, which provides several options for meals and coffee breaks.

Scheduling: For events is required contact by phone or personally in the reserve office.
