Vale informs on Viga operations

Rio de Janeiro, October 1st, 2020 - Vale S.A. (“Vale”) informs that, following the press release of September 29th, 2020, a decision was issued by the judge of the Court of Entre Rios de Minas district on a writ of mandamus filed by Vale, confirming previous injunctions in order to determine the issuance, by the municipal authority, of 2019 and 2020 Location and Operating permits related to the disposal of tailings at B7 dam, located in the municipality of Jeceaba, MG. The magistrate considered that Vale filled in all the due legal requirements for the permits issuance. 

In this sense, Vale resumed tonight, after a 6-day of stoppage, the operations of Viga concentration plant, with production capacity of 11,000 t/day.
