Vitória - Minas Railroad Passenger Train

Vitória - Minas Railroad Passenger Train

The Vitória-Minas Railway (EFVM) operates the only daily passenger train service in Brazil that links two state capitals: Vitória (Espírito Santo) and Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais).

At 7:00, a train leaves Cariacica, in the metropolitan region of Vitória, Espírito Santo, arriving in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais at around 20:10; in the opposite direction, another train leaves Belo Horizonte at 7:30 and reaches its final destination at 20:30. There is also an additional train that goes between Itabira and Nova Era, both in Minas Gerais.

Tickets may be bought up to 30 minutes before the train departure time. After this time, the ticket offices only sell tickets for journeys scheduled for subsequent days.

Operating since 1907, the service transports around 1 million passengers per year across 664 kilometres of beautiful landscapes and historically important regions. The full journey takes approximately 13 hours.

The trains have a snack bar and restaurant, an exclusive car for people with disabilities, and air-conditioned executive cars. In all parts of the train, passengers can call on the onboard staff for assistance.
