We gladly take responsibility to support organizations, groups, and projects that make this a wonderful place to live, learn and work. At a national level, Vale supports programs that benefit Canadians across the country and that align with our values and objectives. We are proud to support many national initiatives, including these.​

The Advanced Coronary Treatment (ACT) FoundationACT Volunteers practice first aid

The Advanced Coronary Treatment (ACT) Foundation is an award-winning national charity dedicated to helping communities establish youth CPR and AED training. With the support of Vale, ACT will introduce the program to more than 20 Canadian high schools.

Actua is a national charity that provides hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education to young Canadians. Since beginning its 5-year partnership with Vale, over 140,000 Aboriginal youth have participated. This summer, Actua will deliver STEM camps in Vale-supported First Nation communities.

Earth Rangers is a kids’ conservation organization that educates children on biodiversity at live assemblies in over 650 Canadian elementary schools each year. Vale has been a major sponsor of its School Assembly Program since 2012, supporting it in 80 schools and pledging support for an additional 120 schools over the next 3 years.

Mining Matters is a charity dedicated to bringing knowledge and awareness of Canada’s geology and mineral resources to students, educators and the public. Partnering with Vale has allowed the organization to spark an interest in Earth science among Canadians of all ages.

Threads of Life supports families on their healing journey after experiencing a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease. Vale has been a long-time national sponsor of the annual Steps for Life walk, raising funds and awareness for families of workplace tragedy victims.​
