Global Trainees will contribute to Vale’s vision of becoming the world’s best mining company while working on impactful and meaningful projects. Over 18 months, you will have the opportunity to develop your career, advance your technical competencies and key leadership behaviours.
You will adopt a deeper understanding of our business by participating in job rotations, working on global and digital projects, and helping us construct a better future for all of us.
Who are we looking for?
The Global Trainee program welcomes all recent graduates. Whether your field is geology, engineering, information technology, human resources, operating, accounting or environment and sustainability, we have a place for you.
Qualifications:
• Completion of an undergraduate university degree with graduation between May 2018 and May 2021
• Ability to travel and move temporarily to other cities and countries
• Alignment with Vale's values
• Effective and proven leadership skills
• Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally
• Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction

About the program
The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) program provides engineering students and recent graduates with acceptable engineering work experience as they pursue their P.Eng licensing.
At Vale, EITs will receive guidance and assistance to accelerate their personal development. They will learn about our business and culture, while being exposed to different engineering methods and technical skills they require for their specialized engineering field. EITs will be encouraged to share innovative ideas to transform the business.
Who are we looking for?
• Applicants must have completed or are currently enrolled in an Engineering Undergraduate program.
• Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training with a professional engineering association within Canada.
• Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally.
• Experienced with engineering design software specific to the engineering field of study.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

About the program
Vale’s Geologist-in-Training (GIT) program provides world-class training and development in a well-established training program across Canada in Thompson, Manitoba; Sudbury, Mississauga, Port Colborne, Ontario; and Voisey’s Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Who are we looking for?
• Applicants must have completed a Geology or Geological Engineering degree.
• Must be eligible to register as a Geologist-in-Training with a professional geoscientist association in Canada.
• Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally.
• Committed to working safely in a team or independent setting.
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills.
