Life in Long Harbour

Two Vale employees sit on top of a bulldozer in their safety attireLiving in Long Harbour, you would be welcomed into the unique culture of the island of Newfoundland, part of Canada’s easternmost province: Newfoundland and Labrador.

Long Harbour itself is a town of less than 300 people and offers a relaxed way of life in a safe and quiet port on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s located about 100 kilometres west of the vibrant port city of St. John’s, and it combines traditional maritime life and modern, high-tech industry at the site of our Long Harbour Processing Plant.
