Traffic on Avenida Alberto Flores will be partially restored today

The bridge under construction on the Avenida Alberto Flores, in Brumadinho (Minas Gerais) will be open, for vehicles on a stop-and-go scheme, on this Tuesday (4). It is the final stage of construction and traffic is expected to normalize in both directions on April 10.

The goal is to provide the communities of Parque da Cachoeira, Córrego do Feijão, Melo Franco, Marques, Aranha, Palhano, Córrego Ferreira and Casa Branca, among others, safe access to the central area of Brumadinho.

The structure is 50 meters long and is being built in concrete and steel. Once completed, the bridge will allow dual-vehicle traffic and includes a pedestrian sidewalk. All works are being carried out by Vale.

Another important work nearing completion is sheet pile wall next to the Alberto Flores bridge. In addition to retaining and preventing the tailings from covering the road again, the barrier will enable the installation of a Water Treatment Station (ETA) to reduce the turbidity of the water in the Ferro-Carvão stream and return it clean to the Paraopeba river.
