I am an environmental engineer. I joined Vale through the Recruitment for Capital Projects program, which prepares recently-graduated engineers for the implementation of company projects in Brazil and overseas. I work in the Knowledge Management area, which provides support for Vale projects. Many colleagues who joined with me now head projects in various states throughout Brazil.

The major difference in the engineers’ program is the basic project training, equivalent to a post-graduate degree. In addition to the opportunity to work in a company like Vale, the professional acquires knowledge that they wouldn’t possess upon graduating from university.

Vale concerns itself with sustainability, and the waste management of ore is one example of this. Anyone wishing to build a career here should first invest in their education. Secondly, get to know the company. Lastly, work out what they are good at.
