Vale was one of the sponsors of “Investing in African Mining Indaba 2011,” the biggest annual mining event in Africa. The conference took place in Cape Town, South Africa, from February 7 to 10, and was attended by delegations from many countries, including Mozambique, Zambia, Guinea, Liberia, South Africa, Japan and Australia.
Presentations were given on the relationship between mining and sustainability and issues related to commodities such as copper, coal and nickel. As a sponsor, Vale had a stand at the event and also gave corporate presentations.
