At Vale, the whole supplier management process is electronic. In order to apply to become a Vale supplier, please access https://snm.quadrem.net and click on the “Apply Today!” link.
You will receive an e-mail reply informing you of the terms and conditions for registration and your login name and password to access the Quadrem Portal, where you will be able to register your company’s information.
We would like to remind you that it is very important to completely fill in all mandatory spaces, including the supply category, and to attach all the required documentation. Based on this information, Vale is able to authorize companies to take part in bids and hire them.

After I register, will I be a Vale supplier?
No. At this stage the company is just a potential Vale supplier. In order to become a registered supplier, the company needs to go through an authorization process conducted by the Supplier Management area.
Whenever a new company requests inclusion on Vale’s supplier database, the Purchasing area will ask the Supplier Management area to authorize the candidate company.
In the authorization process, companies are classified as critical or non-critical, according to the types of services performed by them.
What documents are required in the authorization process?

WORKPLACE SAFETY INSURANCE:
- WSIB Clearance certificate - Ontario (For provision of services)
- WorkSafeBC clearance certificate - British Columbia (For provision of services)
- WCB Clearance certificate - Manitoba (For provision of services)
- WHSCC Clearance certificate - Newfoundland and Labrador (For provision of services)
- CSST Registration letter – Quebec (For provision of services)
- WSIB (Ontario) – CAD7 Ranking Safety Performance (Construction sector only)
LIABILITY INSURANCE:
Private insurance company (For provision of internal services)
QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS:
- Technical Standard and Safety Authority (TSSA) (when applicable)
- ISO Certification (when applicable)
- CWB Welding certification (when applicable)
- Radio Frequency (Frequency Standards and documentation) (when applicable)
SNM Basic Information:
Please make sure that the following information is correctly inserted in the SNM Portal:
- COMPANY NAME
- BUSINESS NUMBER (GST/HST)
- HEADQUARTERS ADDRESS
- PRIMARY CONTACT DETAILS
- BANKING INFORMATION (attach bank statement or void check)
- BUSINESS NUMBER (use Tax ID field SNM to fill in this information)
FOR SUPPLIERS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
- Basic Information: name, address, contact details
- BANKING INFORMATION (attach bank statement or void check)
