Importance of materials and services for the business: This variable considers aspects related to risks and complexity in the supply market, whereby products and services are segmented into specific “purchasing categories” (established at Vale’s sole discretion).

Financial value of the contract: The financial value of the contract can also affect the degree of criticality of a purchase/contract.
