 Vale Day is celebrated in China

On 1 June, Vale celebrated 68th anniversary in China, during a “Vale Day” event at the 2010 Shanghai Expo, the world’s third-biggest international event, which will last for six months, a world fair in which more than 190 countries are showcasing their culture and technologies in order to help develop economic and commercial ties.

"Today is a special day for Vale on which the company: celebrating its 68th anniversary, visiting this magnificent Expo and inaugurating our new office here in Shanghai. We’re going to stay in this country for a very, very long time," said Roger Agnelli, CEO of Vale, who was present at the event, together with executive director for ferrous metals, José Carlos Martins, Vale’s country manager in China, Michael Zhu, and Renato Neves, global director for iron ore marketing and business development.

Official sponsor of the Brazil Pavilion at the Shanghai edition of the World Expo. Vale celebrated "Vale Day" at the Expo and presented its initiatives to adopt innovative technologies in mining and sustainable development processes, inspired by the Expo’s theme of "Better City, Better Life."
