Vale operates two ports in Indonesia through its subsidiary PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (PTI), in which it has a 59.2% stake. These ports support our nickel mining activities in the South Sulawesi region.
One of the ports, Balantang, has a pier that can accommodate vessels of up to 6,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT). The other port, Harpan Tanjung Mangkasa, can receive ships of up to 39,000 DWT.
