Opened in 2004, the Vale Botanical Park is located in Vitória, the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Covering 33 hectares, the park forms part of the Vale Green Belt, demonstrates the process of restoring and preserving the Atlantic Forest to visitors, and contributes to integration between the community and Vale.
The park feature a diverse range of flora, including more than 140 species of trees, such as pau-brasil, Brazilian rosewood and trees of the Tabebuia genus, as well as wild fauna such as Brazilian squirrels, opossums, tamarins and various species of birds that can be spotted along the park’s five ecological trails. The orchid house hosts around 500 species from Brazil and other countries.
Garden of the Senses
In order to promote a genuine encounter with nature, Vale has created the Garden of the Senses. The garden has a range of features designed to explore and stimulate our five senses. To cater to all visitors, the staff members of the Vale Botanical Park in Vitória have done sign language training.
