We maintain constant dialog with government authorities in the countries where we are present. In order to contribute to improving the regulation of our activities and spread best industrial practices, we participate in national and international entities and associations.
Since 2007, Vale has been a signatory to the United Nations’ Global Compact, which aims to strengthen ethics in corporations. Since 2006, we have also been a member of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), focusing on sustainable development and human rights. In the health area, Vale is part of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Our relations with government authorities, organizations and entities representing civil society are guided by our Code of Ethical Conduct and our Vision, Mission and Values. In terms of political activities, we maintain strict impartiality.
