Vale is developing a project that envisages doubling the EFC by 2017 by building 559 km of tracks that will connect each of the 54 maneuvering yards.
In all, 73% of the EFC's route is in a straight line, while 27% in curves - there are 347 altogether. The trains' average speed is 40 km/h.
