The Renova Foundation is responsible for managing the reparation, restoration and reconstruction programs of the regions impacted by the breakage of the Fundão dam, which occurred in November 2015. Vale is one of the companies that maintains Renova, which has the autonomy to manage and execute the actions established by a Conduct Adjustment Transaction Term.
Dialogue with the communities is what guides Renova’s actions in seeking to compensate, in an efficient and transparent manner, what cannot be remedied. Recuperating the watershed, rehousing residents and indemnifying all families that suffered losses due to the accident are its priorities.
The institution was born in 2016, from a Conduct Adjustment Transaction Term (TTAC).
The document was signed by Samarco Mineração and its shareholders – Vale and BHP Billiton – and also, by institutions and bodies of the Federal Government and the States of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.
