  • Nico Kanter

    President Director
    Nico Kanter

    Mr. Kanter was appointed President Director at the Company’s Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on September 27, 2011. Prior to his appointment, he had served as an Independent Commissioner of PT Vale since April 2009. Prior to joining PT Vale, Mr. Kanter served as Head of Country, British Petroleum (BP) Indonesia, were he oversaw and was responsible for integrating all of BP’s operations in Indonesia. Previously, he was Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Relations of BP, a position he assumed in 2005.

    Mr. Kanter’s career at BP began in 1984 as a lawyer. From 1987 to 1996, he worked in a number of departments at BP, including Purchasing, Finance, Control and Planning and Marketing and Commercial. He served as Human Resources Manager from 1996 to 1999 and was promoted to Vice-President Public and Government Affairs. Mr. Kanter was named Senior Vice-President, Human Resources and General Support of Vico Indonesia (acquired by BP) from 2001 to 2002 and thereafter was seconded to BP Asia-Pacific and Middle East (Hong Kong) as Executive Assistant to the Group Vice-President Upstream.

    Returning to Indonesia in 2003, Mr. Kanter was named Senior Vice President, Public and Government Affairs. He was subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Relations.

    Mr. Kanter has a master of law degree from the University of Indonesia and a master of business administration (international business) from the University of Southern California.

  • Bernardus Irmanto

    Bernardus Irmanto

    Mr. Irmanto was first appointed to the Board of Directors on Octobern28, 2010. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Irmanto served as General Manager and was responsible for the shared services operation of PT Vale.

    Mr. Irmanto joined PT Vale in August 2004 as a Senior Systems Analyst. Since that time, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in the IT department. In February 2007, Mr. Irmanto was appointed to the position of General Manager of IT. Prior to joining PT Vale, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in Newmont Nusa Tenggara, Fujitsu Asia Pacific Pty Ltd., Bali Camp, University of New South Wales and PT Freeport Indonesia.

    Mr. Irmanto obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 1997 and a master’s degree of engineering science in computer science and engineering from the University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia in 2003.

    On February 16, 2011, PT Vale held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders that approved the appointment of Mr. Irmanto as Vice President Director of PT Vale.

  • Lovro Paulic

    Lovro Paulic

    Mr. Lovro Paulic has more than 28 years of professional experience within the mining industry and has been trusted to deal with various high profile projects.

    Mr. Paulic started his career at the Vale Ma nitoba Operations, and was appointed as Director of Operation in 2009. With passion for people development, safety leadership and rigour to cost management, he has had tremendous success trans forming the Manitoba operations. During that first year, he led the organization to a sustainable cost reduction of over CAD$128M and further improved cost over his tenure. Improv ement in safety was manifested in “Total Recordable Injury Frequency” of less than 0.7. A 2015 record. Manitoba operations achieved another safety milestone by reaching 367 days without a lost time injury for the first time in its 60 year history.

    Mr. Paulic holds Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Febriany Edy

    Febriany Eddy

    Ms. Eddy was appointed to the Board of Directors at the Company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on April 23, 2013. She has 14 years of working experience in accounting, auditing, financial due diligence, financial evaluation, capital projects control and operational performance management. 

    Ms. Eddy joined PT Vale Indonesia Tbk in September 2007 as Manager for Capital Projects Control and Financial Evaluation, where she had significant involvement with operations, focusing on improving cost efficiencies, evaluating and managing capital projects and supporting strategic planning. In October 2010, she was transferred to regional office of Vale Base Metals Asia Pacific and Africa, based in Brisbane, Australia. Her responsibilities there included Base Metals operations in Indonesia, Japan, China, Taiwan and Africa.

    Prior to Vale, Ms. Eddy worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, spending five years in Jakarta and one and a half years in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She was involved in a broad range of international projects in accounting, auditing and financial due diligence. 

    Ms. Eddy has a Bachelor of Economics, majoring in accounting, from the University of Indonesia, and is an Indonesian Certified Public Accountant. She is currently completing an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and National University of Singapore.
