PT Vale recruits new miners to bolster the Mines Department

Psychological and logic tests held at Matano Player halls
In the final week of April, as many as 373 selected candidates joined psychological and logic tests held at Ontaeluwu and Matano Player halls.

PT Vale's Mines Department recruits local personnel to improve the operation of its heavy equipments, in order to increase the Company's nickel ore mining volumen in its Sorowako operation. The vacant positions are Miner 3, with a quota of 138 miners. The new hires will be assigned as dumptruck, bulldozer and grader operators, miner controllers and survey asssitants.

Senior Manager of HR Operation of PT Vale Sidransyah Yusri informed that the recruitment process has been started since March 31, 2017 when the Company announced the job opening to the local government and public in East Luwu. Early in April, 900 individuals entitled to join a theoretical test held on April 21, after succesfully passed administratives selection a week before. In the final week of April, as many as 373 selected candidates joined psychological and logic tests held at Ontaeluwu and Matano Player halls.

The recruitment processes, eight stages in total, will be followed with practical test for heavy equipment operators, then physical tests, final interview and medical examinations.

"In this recruitment, we employed online registration through the HR website so as to record the applicants data, minimize human errors and intervention. The applicants will have their test number generated by the computers," said Sidransyah. "While in the interview stage, we will involved expert in Behavior Interview," added Sidransyah. The entire recruitment stages are scheduled to be completed in June, in which the succesful candidates will be signed on a three-month probationary employment contract.

To ensure the whole processes are open and accountable, PT Vale the recruitment process honest and accountable, the Committee asked each of the applicants and recruitment team members to sign an Integrity Pact.

Other than Mines Department as the user, the recruitment processes also involved internal departments such as HR Operations, Defense and Security Services (DSS) and Communication & External Affairs, as well as the external party of East Luwu Manpower and Transmigration Office.
