Launched in 2011, our Gender Equality Project was initially focused on promoting female talent and capabilities at Vale – without creating a discriminatory environment, but recognizing the existing historical and cultural liability.

During 2012, mobilization actions in Brazil involved more than 1,200 employees in 24 locations. The many initiatives included one to adjust women’s uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
