VALE DISTRIBUTES FOOD AID IN MANJUNG

Latest distribution benefits 503 socioeconomically vulnerable families

MANJUNG, August 12 – Vale in Malaysia continues to extend its social support to the local communities by distributing 503 food aid packages to low-income households in Manjung. The distribution process is assisted by the State Assemblyperson of Pasir Panjang, Yahaya Mat Nor.

The food aid is a continuation of the ‘Vale Bersama Manjung’ initiative, which aims to promote inclusive community development in Manjung and assist socioeconomically vulnerable groups. Vale’s pandemic support for the communities, worth over MYR1.5 million combined so far, including the donation of test kits, front liner care packages, and infrastructure support for the local hospital, among other items. The support also culminated in a MYR430,000 donation made recently to support an ongoing vaccination drive by the Malaysian Marine Department to inoculate workers in the maritime sector in the Manjung-Lumut Port region.
