A panel of children's drawings is the main highlight of the entrance of Escola Municipal Gustavo Capanema, located in Gesteira, district of Barra Longa (MG). Made by the students themselves, the work of art is the process of collective discussion, critical to the development of the design and construction of space, delivered by Renova Foundation for about 50 families in the community on December 7th.
Built in concrete and PVC and guided by the main Brazilian education guidelines, the teaching unit is adapted for persons with physical disabilities and has capacity for 30 students, enough to meet local demand. There are two classrooms, office, computer room, canteen and kitchen already equipped.
Next to school, a sports facility and a square were also delivered, which is a milestone in the social, cultural and educational rescue of the community.
