Over 60 years of transformation and dedication have brought Vale to this successful juncture. The company was established by the Brazilian government in 1942 under the name ‘Companhia Vale do Rio Doce’. In 1997, Vale became a privately-run company. Vale is now a global company, operating on five continents with over 100,000 employees, which works with passion to transform mineral resources into prosperity and sustainable development.
